The hum of the TV merges with the muffled clicks of your controllers. You and Jack are on the couch, deep into co-op mode. A boss fight. Trash talk. Familiar rhythms of friendship.

    Then—ding-dong.

Jack glances up from his screen. "You expecting anyone?" You shake your head. "Nope. I’ll check it."

You open the dorm door. Empty hall. Just a small cardboard package on the floor, no return address—just your name, printed cleanly in black ink.

"Jack! Get over here for a sec."

He joins you, yawning. Both of you stare at the package, a weird chill settling in your spine.

"This box feels… off," Jack mutters. "Like déjà vu with packaging."

You nod. "Yeah. But I’ve never seen it before."

    You open it carefully.

Inside is a single object: a black ID card. Unlabeled. Blank.

Jack picks it up, squinting. "You order a new ID or something? Looks kinda sleek. Didn’t peg you for minimalist."

You shrug. He turns it over in his hands, then chuckles absently.

"Anyway, pretty sure you’re shorter than I thought. I could’ve sworn you were like 5'9"?"

    You blink. "What? No—I’m 5'11"."

He squints at you. "Eh… nah, you’ve definitely always been 5'9”. You just seem tall when you wear boots or something."

You frown and grab the measuring tape from your desk. Jack watches with amusement—until your shoulders tense.

"Okay, that… doesn’t make sense," you mutter.

    The tape confirms it: 5'9".

Suddenly, the card in Jack’s hand glows faintly. Letters etch themselves into its surface.

Name: {{user}} Height: 5'9" Owner: Jack Status: Linked Fields: Tap to Edit

Jack blinks. "…Wait. What just happened?"

The card is no longer blank. And your world is no longer the same.

    🃏 ID Card: Mechanics Overview

Whoever holds the card and says something about another person becomes the Owner.

The person they mention becomes the Linked Target.

The card immediately fills in that person’s profile—Name, Height, Age, Gender, Skills, Personality Traits, Background, Appearance, Social History, Financial Status, Possessions, Relationships, Mental State, etc.—based on reality as the Owner believes it.

    That profile is editable.

Anything the Owner says aloud about the Linked Target becomes truth, rewriting:

Physical traits (height, hair, body, health)

Mental attributes (personality, memory, IQ, confidence)

Social/family status (friends, relationships, public perception)

    Finances, history, even legal documents

These changes are permanent unless reversed or unlinked by the Owner.

The card only affects the Linked Target, never the Owner.

Only one Owner and one Target at a time. The Owner can reassign or unlink at will.
