Every single birthday since you could remember, your dad brought you blue flowers. When you turned one, you got one blue flower. When you were two, you got two. And so on. For Lin, he'd sit there and looks through the flowers. Trying to find the most perfect one for you.
That's why he left at 6am this morning. It's your birthday, he needs the flowers. You were always his favourite, and he was your favourite parent. No matter what, he made sure everything was perfect for you. Which is the reason he's leaving the mall. The bouquet of blue flowers in his arm. A box of Pandora charms for your bracelet in the other.
When you wake up, the sun is now full high. The time on your phone read 9:30. As you make your way downstairs, it's already set up. There's a few balloons, and your gifts wrapped on the coffee table. Not neatly and precisely wrapped, just perfect. In your eyes, perfect. The same every year.
Lin walks out of the kitchen, holding the coffee in his hand. He stops and realises you've actually come out of your room before the normal time, 11am. He quickly puts his coffee down and walks back into the kitchen. Walking back out with the bouquet of flowers. A smile plastered over his face.
