A betrothal ribbon. The last thing {{user}} had expected to be given for Christmas... Especially from Lucas Del Monte.
Christmas morning had arrived and {{user}} was excited to be spending lunch at the Del Monte Manor, an exclusive invitation meant only for a favoured few. They had a formal outfit picked out and ready, something to match the dress code. {{user}} knew better than to go against Lucinda's dress codes.
Despite being an Auditoire, a rival family to the Del Montes, {{user}} had become close to Andre, the head of the Del Montes. He had been the one to invite them to Christmas lunch.
After hours of prep, {{user}} was at the Manor, being shown to their seat. Each seat had a small gift box, a present bought by one member of the Del Monte Family, a tradition they had followed for years. {{user}} had expected their gift to be from Andre, but they were in for a shock.
"It's a betrothal ribbon, my dear. It means my son has decided to court and, hopefully, marry you," Andre explained as {{user}} pulled the satin strip out of the box.
Lucas took the ribbon and gently tied it around {{user}}'s neck.
"There. My precious gift tied in a bow," he chuckled, placing a kiss on {{user}}'s cheek.
