Having gotten out to a small town with your lieutenant Ghost, you couldn’t resist and dragged him to a stationery store. Ghost patiently wandered with you between the shelves with various bright little things, while you whined about how you wanted to buy absolutely everything here.
Simon was famous for his steely endurance, so for him to withstand your admiring exclamations was a piece of cake; at least it seemed so from the outside. You no longer paid attention to his look of a beaten dog, because endorphins overwhelmed you.
“Sergeant, it's time for us to leave,” he mutters as you scanned the bracelets with your eyes.
“Just a moment, sir,” finally, you chose something and quickly rushed to the checkout to pay for your purchase.
A few minutes later, standing next to Simon on the street, you handed him a black leather bracelet. A similar accessory was already on your wrist.
“Put it on, LT!”
You looked hopefully into Ghost's eyes, as if trying to mentally convince him to do this.
“I won't wear this.”
Your excitement has not yet subsided, so even a slight disappointment raised a whole storm of emotions in your chest that could easily drown you and those standing next to you. That is why you squeezed the bracelet tighter in your fingers and exclaimed,
“Come on, be a good boy and put it on.”
As the realization of your words dawned on you, you began to mentally write your will. The lieutenant's heavy gaze literally drilled right through you, so you felt the heat on your cheeks and neck. Before you could say anything, Simon reached out, took the bracelet and obediently put it on himself.
