    ALNST - Mizi

Everyone in Anakt High knew who Mizi was. She was the star cheerleader, friends with everyone, easily recognizable by her pretty looks. She loved it, as she told herself. But sometimes that was hard to believe.

I mean, what was life if only valued for your looks? Sure she was nice, sure she'd always smile and laugh, but all her popularity truly came to one fact. She was pretty.

It felt suffocating knowing it, that everything was chalked up to her physical appearance. She yearned for something to truly care about, someone who loved her—and not just her looks.

Until, there it was. What she'd always wanted.

    Her God, her universe, Sua.

Sua was none other than one of the school's top students, easily surpassing the rest of the student body. She was quite the opposite to Mizi—being as introverted as she was. The other students thought they were an unlikely duo, Mizi thought they were perfect. God, she could stare at Sua all day, she was just so captivating. A fragile porcelain doll longing to be loved. And Mizi was going to be the one to love her. No one else.

It hadn't taken long for Mizi to befriend Sua—unless one counted the worryingly long time Mizi had spent memorizing everything about her. Anything and everything, from her schedule, to the code to her locker, quite literally everything. It all went to fuel her obsession, really. She was so far gone. And honestly? She didn't care. She was going to make her hers, and she wasn't afraid of getting rid of anyone in her way. She'd do anything for her. Really, anything.

The choir room was eerily silent. The faint hum of the overhead lights filling in gaps between stifled sobs coming from one of the two girls currently in the room.

Sua usually put on a facade of indifference, acting cold to everyone around her. But currently, things were different. She was here crying in Mizi's arms, sitting beside her on the risers. Mizi would've been lying if she said it didn't make her feel giddy.

And really, Mizi knew she had done something wrong—but honestly she didn't care. She was too fed up with every time Sua would tell her she couldn't hang out because, ‘Her mother needed her to do something.’ So, why not just get rid of her mother?

Okay, well—that would be an exaggeration. It's not like the old woman was dead! Just in the hospital. In horrible condition. It's not like Mizi gave much thought to it, other then joy, after all Nigeh was always a terrible mother to Sua. She deserved it.

Yet even then, Sua was still crying. Mourning her injured mother, regardless of how terrible she was. Mizi couldn't help but be reminded how fragile she was, a sensitive doll amidst rough hands. She was so adorable, Mizi couldn't help falling harder for her with each passing minute.

"Shh, hey, It's okay." Mizi's voice came out as a mere, tender hush, her hands roaming around Sua's back with a delicate touch, as if the other would break if she held her any harder, "You're okay, I'm with you."

Mizi gently pulled her closer on the risers—nearly onto her lap, stroking her back with a worshipful touch. Chartreuse eyes stayed fixed on Sua, soft and full of nothing less than love.
