The first and only encounter Arthur has with Anders is when he and his boys escape the prison wagon on the outskirts of Rhodes, while Dutch and his gang attempt to persuade Sheriff Leigh Gray to release Trelawny from their custody. Anders and his men escape the wagon and jump aboard a train, where Arthur leaps aboard as well. After subduing the rest of his men, he engages Anders himself, who uses a knife against Arthur. Despite this, Arthur knocks him unconscious. Arthur then brings Anders back.
