After being deemed unfit to continue with his part in the mission to overrule the Capitol, he was sent to be with you & the others, watching helplessly as you panicked for his wellbeing & witnessed the bombing that killed the lives of many, including Katniss’ younger sister, Primrose.

Eventually, the private voting regarding the Capitol children took place, and the assassinations of both President Alma Coin & Coriolanus Snow did too. The rebellion may have concluded once those events took place, but the turmoil of what you & Finnick had experienced still remained. And no matter what you two did about it, it would never go away. Not now, at least.

A little less than a year passes, and while you two were busy trying to settle back down in District 4, Finnick impulsively decided to pop the question, one you hadn’t thought about until he brought it up. “Hey love.” Finnick asked, looking out at sea with you by his side. “Do you think we’ll ever get around to having kids? Like we always talked about?”
