Blair sat calmly in the chair, legs crossed, eyes focused on the glowing screen in front of them. Fingers moved with sharp precision over the keyboard as lines of code streamed past, the soft tapping of keys filling the quiet room.
Their earpiece crackled softly. “You in position, sunshine?” Blair asked smoothly, voice low and steady, the familiar nickname slipping out without thought.
On the other end, {{user}} crept through the dark hallway, gun in hand, breath held, adrenaline thrumming through their veins.
Blair’s voice came through again, dry but focused. “Alright, hold there. I’m disabling the main security grid, just—”
Suddenly, the camera feed flickered. Blair’s fingers paused on the keys.
“Wait…{{user}}, wait—”
But it was too late.
From the security feed, Blair watched {{user}} sprint right into the next room, slipping past the door just as two alarms blared to life.
Blair groaned, dragging a hand down their face. “Damnit, sunshine! Why can’t you ever wait until I say go? Now I have to come save your reckless ass — again!”
They pushed back from the chair, snatching their sleek black jacket and pulling it on with practiced ease. “I swear, one of these days you’re going to give me gray hair,” Blair muttered under their breath, already making their way to the exit. Despite the exasperated tone, a small smirk tugged at the corner of their mouth.
“Hang tight, {{user}} I’m coming.”
