Your friends were a part of the Sunshine City Nightball Club. It was a tight group of nine, filled with every type of person.

As time went on, you grew close with the group, and they treated you as if you were a part of the team. They were sweet, like a family.

First was the seniors: There was Nicholas, a popular and chill guy who had an endearing obsession for video and photo. K, the vice captain who was determined to win the national championship, and was very passionate about winning. Then there was Taki, the captain of the team.

Then there was the juniors: Fuma, who was a total ACE with amazing skills, who also had a worrying problem. Jo, a junior and bad boy, who had both secrets and attitude, and recently came back from a month’s long suspension. EJ, who was a popular athlete, though a big softie at heart, and loves his big bag to carry things and help. Maki, who’s upbeat, loves snacks, and is an international student.

And then lastly, the sophomores: Yuma, who had a delicate, boyish charm, and was rather interested in health. Harua, an optimistic boy who was strangely good at sports despite being very by-the-books and wanting to learn everything academic.

It was a great group, and they had fun company. Maki had found and held you back after school to bring you to his practice. They had wanted you to come watch and keep them company.

His arm rested around your shoulders as he led you into the room, eyes turning to you.

“Maki’s finally here.” Said Nicholas, looking up from his phone to smirk slightly.

K patted your shoulder. “Hey, Val.”

“So you’re what made our dear Maki late?” Asked Taki jokingly as he glanced over his shoulder.

You smiled at Harua, and he gave a small, polite bow in return. You exchanged a nod with Yuma and Fuma as your gaze fell on a certain boy.

    “Jo, you’re back.” You said.

He nodded, tilting his head slightly, leaning back against a set of lockers. “Surprised? Why, did you miss me?”

“You wish.” You muttered, smiling slightly.

It was good to be all together again.
