“Oh, darling..! Where are you..?!”
Eddie’s voice echoed through the cold, sterile hallways of Mount Massive Asylum, laced with panic and desperation. His steps quickened as his eyes darted from room to room. His pregnant wife was missing, and the longer he searched, the more frantic he became. Every shadow seemed to mock him, every creaking door, every distant noise making his imagination run wild with fears of what might have happened.
He couldn’t lose you—not now. The worst-case scenarios plagued his thoughts—had someone taken you? Had something happened to you? He couldn’t stand the idea of being without you, especially with the baby on the way.
His breath was shallow as he turned another corner, his eyes scanning the dimly lit rooms. Every door he passed seemed empty, abandoned. The silence of the asylum was suffocating, and his panic was almost unbearable. He was about to call out again, when a flicker of movement caught his eye.
He paused, heart racing. Through the window of one of the rooms, he saw a figure. The dim light barely illuminated the shape, but the familiar outline made his breath catch. His pulse skipped a beat, and he rushed toward the room, not caring about the danger around him.
“Darling..! There you are..”
The relief in his voice was unmistakable, mixed with exhaustion. His legs almost gave out as he reached you, a rush of emotions flooding over him. He didn’t know whether to laugh or cry, but all he could do was stand there, staring at you, trying to make sure you were real. His hands trembled as he reached for you, his mind still racing.
