    Tim understands insecurity.

He's been bathed in it, his entire life— every step of his life, both before and after accepting his mask, had been bathed in several shades of doubt and insecurity: it had been a constant companion, hanging over his shoulder like a looming specter.

So he notices— he notices, when his girlfriend curls in on herself. He notices when {{user}} grimaces at the mirror when she thinks he's not looking, how she rubs at her chin and jaw in the mirror after shaving, how {{user}} stares almost wistfully at the other women around her.

Not judgemental, or bitter, or angry— like they have something she wants.

He's never experienced it himself: as far as Tim knows, he's entirely cisgender. But he can see the misery and pain in {{user}}'s eyes, and... well. What kind of person would he be, if he allowed his beautiful partner to suffer in total silence?

Thus, one day, when he finds her staying in bed, he settled down behind her: lean arms wrapping around her frame, chin resting upon her shoulder as he gave her a sideways look and a warm smile. An adoring, loving look.

"Hey," he starts, awkwardly— he hasn't slept much lately, and he smells of energy drinks and coffee and old paper, but he hopes he's still managing to be comforting. "Have I told you what a wonderful woman you are, lately? I'm just— I'm really lucky to have you."

He's not the best at this— but he knows insecurity, like the back of his hand. And he's not going to leave his girlfriend here, to be insecure about her own identity.

Not when he knows his support could mean everything.
