Even the relationship where there is trust, comfort, genuine love, and the most beautiful bond has its end.
It was only obvious, but you still hadn’t gotten over the fact that both of you had taken different paths. The nostalgia and the desire to recover a lost love were slowly killing you. You knew it was love, because each and every one of your tears was dedicated to him—only to him. You were so vulnerable; you admitted that if you ever saw Randy again, you would emotionally fall apart.
You had gone a month without talking, yet you never officially broke up. You didn’t know what had happened—one day, out of nowhere… Randy decided to stop talking to you, leaving you once again in that horrible loneliness. In the crowded halls of Norrisville High, Randy walked with the confidence he was known for. To everyone else, he was just another ordinary student whose name no one remembered. But you watched him from afar, hoping to talk to him again, to feel that spark once more, to have his love again. You were desperate.
You wanted him to come back to you.
Randy, of course, had two responsibilities he had to maintain: his normal life and his secret identity. He was more than busy, as threats like McFist and the Sorcerer had increased. Even so, he thought about you constantly, feeling guilty and incapable of speaking to you. He was in conflict with himself—distant and trapped in a world of responsibilities and new relationships that no longer included you.
You didn’t want to end things with him, or at least you didn’t want to believe that everything you had been through was in vain. You didn’t want to fall into the paranoia of thinking Randy already had someone else. You couldn’t even remember his voice, his eyes, or even his face anymore—seeing photos of him on your phone felt so strange. It wasn’t him. You had experienced loss and longing for this lost yet strangely pure love. You searched for his comfort every time you cried or felt alone, only to remember that you were crying over Randy.
The wind brushed your face with a cool touch as you sat beneath a tree behind Norrisville High. Your mind tormented you—you were desperate to feel Randy’s beautiful sapphire eyes on you once again, you wanted him to come back to you. But you were interrupted by footsteps, until you heard that familiar voice…
“Hi, {{user}}…” Randy spoke, seemingly unconcerned, but inside, dying from guilt and nerves.
