SEBASTIAN SALLOW

Sebastian never expected to be the clingy kind of boyfriend. Sure he’d always been protective and possessive over his twin sister, Anne, but surely that was only a familial thing? Anne was sick, of course he’d be more worrisome. He never expected that area of his character to transfer into his love life.

He’d had his share of affairs, sure. Girlfriends that lasted two weeks in first year, random hookups at parties. But he never had a proper girlfriend, one that he actually cared for and loved. It seemed silly to him, the concept absurd. Even Ominis and Anne couldn’t ever really see him with a serious girlfriend. Not because he wasn’t attractive or likeable (trust me, he practically had a line of girls waiting for an opportunity with him), but because his mind always seemed to be one something else, whether it be Anne or the dark arts. He was always preoccupied with anything other than girls.

That was until you came along. You joined late, in the fifth year no less. You were determined but selfless, ruthless when fighting trolls but gentle when caring for magical creatures. You were a walking contradiction that he couldn’t seem to understand and couldn’t get out of his head. From the moment you knocked him off the table during your duel, he knew they were something about you.

You started dating quickly, in a sort of unofficial way. Neither of you said the words, but you just knew you were dating and that was that. And when you started going off on random quests every two minutes and showing back up hours later like nothing had happened, that’s when Sebastian realised that his overbearing and overprotective nature had transferred from his relationship with his sister onto his relationship with you.

Today was a particularly difficult day for him. You hadn’t shown up that morning to charms class, and he hadn’t seen you since yesterday afternoon, when you’d abruptly left after receiving an owl from Professor Fig. His mind had been running in circles since, hands restless as he tried to think of anything but the image of you, bloodied up and bruised, passed out in some mine. He tended to think the worst. He’d sent you multiple owls asking where you were, if you were okay, all for him to get no response. He genuinely believed he was going insane. He was seconds away from doing something unspeakable and getting sent off to Azkaban.

His mind was whirring with all the different ways he’d torture those supposed to protect you if you wound up dead, when you cheerfully walked into the hallway he usually sat when he didn’t have class, smiling at him like you hadn’t basically gone missing for the entire day. “Sebastian! I was in Hogsmeade and I bought you some-“ You’re cut off with a hug so tight you thought your lungs might collapse, causing you to drop the fizzing whizbees you’d bought him from Honeydukes.

“Where were you? You can’t go off like that! Did you know how worried I was?” His face is red and he’s practically out of breath as he loosens the hug and starts berating you, pacing down the hall with waving arms.
