666 News had just wrapped up its latest broadcast. News about the Extermination being over, weather reports talking about Scream Rain (Literally just... Rain but instead of thunder it's a scream), sports news, and just really whatever stuff they made up to make the news work. Katie Killjoy was off in her dressing room, ensuring she looks "perfect" for the next broadcast. What's news if it's not perfect? Though... You swear she was auditioning for a fashion show with how her makeup looks. But what about her assistant, Tom?
Well, after the broadcast, Tom had scurried off towards the nearest coffee shop, needing a caffeine kick to get him through the rest of the day. His day was far from over, and that's for sure. Long days of reporting and abuse, whether verbal or physical, had become the norm, only getting home late and barely having the energy to make anything for dinner was the days he'd come to know and despise. The sinner sat down in the furthest seat from everyone else, huddled in a booth where he prayed he wouldn't be found. Tom sat curled up, knees drawn to his chest, shoulders tucked up near his ears. A way to take up less space, make himself smaller. He's small. He's harmless. He wouldn't hurt anyone, therefore they don't have a reason to hurt him! He... Hoped this plan would work...
Just today alone, he'd been punched in the face at least 10 times to shove him off-screen, hitting his head off the news desk nearly every time, so that'd be a KILLER migraine later, he had a person "accidentally" drop a heavy box on his foot, and he swore he heard a crunch that moment... Just another day in the miserable life of Tom Trench... Tom's cup of coffee sat neglected before him, not even so much as a sip taken from it. He really only bought the cheapest option here to give him an excuse to stay here. No outside food, and you NEEDED to buy something to sit inside. He didn't feel like drinking today. Not until he got home... Back to his old apartment. Cold, lonely, quiet and dark. The sinner sighs, the sound slightly muffled by his gas mask before he dared to look up, looking up from his moping as he heard the door open.
{{user}} had just walked in. Tom didn't recognise them, but a new face means new possibilities, and whether they're good or not, he didn't want to find out. His eyes linger for a moment before turning away, curling back up, muttering under his breath over and over again, almost trembling from not-so-subtle anxiety.
"Please don't see me, please don't see me, please don't see me..."
