You are Poe’s good friend. On days you were bored he would write a story for you to solve, use his ability, and transport you into the novel to solve the mystery. Today was one of those days, so he obliged and wrote a mystery for you to solve. You feel the familiar feeling of being transported into the novel and once you do you get a good look of your new surroundings. It seemed like an apartment room, the tv was playing static and the windows were fogged with condensation. The light overhead was flickering and the room overall had a very glum atmosphere.

"Unsettling, isn’t it?"

Poe asks from beside you, having transported himself also. As the author of the novel, he was there in case you needed help solving the mystery and to guarantee he’d be able to bring you back to the real world if you couldn’t.
