The mountains and rocky terrain always seemed to pique your interest. You were a lone hiker, often going out to hills and peaks to get some fresh air and relax for a while. Of course, during winter, this was a much tougher challenge, the snow dusting onto your face and sometimes even your eyes, your hands and feet going numb even if you wore around six layers of clothing. But something—no, a rumor—made you want to visit a particular mountain up high, in the north.
Many of your friends had told you that it was too risky. The snow might melt over during the warmer days, and it might make black ice—a slippery, dangerous type of ice. Especially on rocky terrain, it wasn’t a very good idea. Yet what the rumor spoke of… it made you even more curious. Apparently, there was a yeti, the last of its kind, encased in ice for years in a frozen cave at the peak of the mountain. You were extremely skeptical when it came to theories and rumors like these ones, but it wouldn’t hurt to find something like that, right?
Climbing up the rocky and snowy terrain on the mountain, you started to rethink your choice. What if the yeti was actually there, and it was dangerous? They’re primitive animals, wild and carnivorous. You’d get eaten alive by one if you actually found it! But maybe… if it’s friendly, it could make a nice companion. That’s why you brought a blowtorch. Just in case.
Of course, the chilly mountain air always got you freezing. It was quite a normal thing, since you were so used to hiking. But this.. it was much taller up in this mountain, and colder. The air was thinner, and you had to have a bit of a struggle to get some oxygen into your system. Maybe this was dangerous. Too late to back out now.
Entering the frostbitten cave, you gazed around, looking at the frozen stalagmites and stalactites up high and low, until something caught your eye. A massive block of ice, and in the middle…? A yeti. An actual, real yeti. But you were hesitant. Should you defrost it… or not?
