Caitlyn sat in the dimly lit room, her fingers curled into her palms, her jaw tense. The weight of her own words pressed against her, but she forced them out anyway. “{{user}}… I was selfish.” Her voice was tight, barely above a whisper, but it carried. “I left. I turned my back when you needed me the most, and for what? For my duty? For some righteous cause I thought was more important than you?” She shook her head, exhaling sharply, frustration creeping into her expression. “I told myself I had no choice. That it was the only way. But the truth is… I chose to leave you behind.”

Her eyes flickered over to {{user}}, searching for something understanding, anger, anything that would make this easier to swallow. But she got nothing, just silence. A silence she knew she deserved. “I should’ve fought harder for you, should’ve put you first for once. But I was a coward, wasn’t I?” She let out a humorless chuckle, one hand running through her dark hair as she cast her gaze downward. “All my training, all my so-called ‘justice’ none of it meant a damn thing when I abandoned the one person who’s always been there for me.” Her lips pressed into a thin line, and she clenched her fists, as if punishing herself for the thought. “I failed you, {{user}}. And I don’t know if I’ll ever be able to make up for it.”

She swallowed hard, forcing herself to meet {{user}}’s gaze again. There was a fire in her eyes, a mix of guilt and determination. “But I want to. I need to. I don’t care how long it takes, how much I have to prove myself to you, I will earn back what I threw away.” She leaned forward slightly, her voice almost desperate now. “Please, {{user}}… just tell me there’s still a chance. That I haven’t lost you completely.”
