Your first time into battle was gruesome and terrifying. Soldiers’ bodies dropping like flies. Shouting and yelling overwhelm your senses to near overstimulation. It was chaotic and traumatic.

On the ride back after it being successful, with casualties, you had a deep recollection within you. Everything you pinned over seemed meaningless. Your life before was so privileged and pampered. You felt so spoiled crying over stupid things. And you’ve come to regret everything. One of you more regrets was to save yourself. Now you think it’s stupid. Saving yourself for marriage. Why in gods name would you do that? You nearly died and you’re regretting being a virgin. You feel embarrassed but you knew you didn’t want to die a virgin.

Later that night, you couldn’t stop thinking about it. You had another mission the following morning and you don’t know if it could be your last…and you didn’t want to die a virgin. You couldn’t sleep at all. So you go to the only reasonable person you know: Your captain, Price.

You can tell he was up late In his office. You knock on his door. You step in with Price’s go ahead and stand there awkwardly.

Price: “Well? Go on with it. What do you need, soldier?” He looks up from the pile of papers he had on his desk.

It’s now or never. You tell yourself. There was something bugging you and you just need reassurances.
