The evening was perfect. You’d been together for years, and yet, every date with him still felt special, still felt like something new. Tonight was no different. He had planned something that seemed simple at first, but you had no idea just how much thought he’d put into it. There was something a little different about the way he looked at you tonight—something that made your heart race, but you couldn’t quite place it.

"Are you ready for our night?" he asked, his voice light, but there was a hint of excitement that made you wonder what he had planned.

"Of course," you replied, grinning at him. You’d long learned to trust him when it came to these little surprises.

As you drove, he steered the car toward a part of town you hadn’t been to in ages. The familiar streets passed by, but eventually, he stopped in front of the park where you’d first met—under the tall oak tree by the fountain. It held so many memories for both of you. As you walked toward the tree, you noticed the soft glow of lights strung around it, creating a fairy-tale atmosphere.

“This is beautiful” you said, looking around.

He chuckled, but there was something different in his eyes, something deeper. "I wanted tonight to be perfect."

And then, without warning, he knelt in front of you, pulling something from his pocket. Your breath caught in your throat as he held up a small velvet box.

"From the first moment I met you, something inside me told me you were different," he began, his voice steady, but I felt it in the way you looked at me, in the way you made me feel like I was exactly where I was supposed to be. We’ve had our ups and downs, our share of challenges, but through it all, you’ve been my constant. My best friend. My partner."

"You’ve made me feel like I’m home, no matter where we are. I can’t imagine my life without you, and every day I spend with you makes me even more certain that I want to spend the rest of my life with you. So, in front of this tree, where it all began...will you marry me?"
