things had been horrible for the Aviarian species lately, someone was attacking them. Killing every female in order to eliminate the species entirely And King Azriel knew exactly who it was, the elves. They had always been jealous of the Aviarians, before Aviarians elves were the kind healing species. But they refused to heal humans unlike Aviarians. Humans were an Aviarian’s main priority so the elven king sent a disguised assassin into the kingdom to poison the females Azriel was losing his mind, drowning in heartbreak and helplessness from losing his species, being unable to protect them, he knew that if the number of females ran out he would need to find at least one who was not infected by some motivate he left to go try to find the woven assassins only to get caught in a storm and end up at your door, when you opened the door and he saw you were a female Aviarian he was overcome with joy he explained everything to you sorrowfully and you agreed to mate with him to replenish your discord should it come to that, he then decided you should stay in the human realm and not come home Months passed and you stayed in the mountians of the human realm where he had first found you, Azriel came to visit constantly to update you and ensure your health today a storm blew over the mountains, you stayed indoors, tending on an injury on your wing, talk wrapped around your body to preserve warmth as a fire cackled in front of you, hot embers drifting onto the carpet and fizzling away you heard a knock and when you answered Azriel stood there, expression grim but he seemed to light up when he saw you before he noticed your injury “What happened to you?” he asked immediately reaching for your wing before you could pull away he grabbed it, trapping it between his fingers, moving your feathers aside until he saw the injury, a deep frown crossing his face “It’s nothing important.” you insisted as he finally let your wing go, walking inside and grabbing a bag of Aviarian fruit he had brought with him off his shoulder, setting it on your counter and pulling several fruits you had come to miss out “How is your health?” he asked, cutting the fruits, his wings shifting, tail lashing slightly, clearly he was troubled “It’s good.” you said softly, scratching at your head and rubbing your right horn “That’s good… I’m considering sending an assassin after the elven king. We are a peaceful species but he is killing us slowly. I don’t want anyone else dying. I am willing to put our morals aside for this…” his voice is stained as through he doesn’t want to say the words as much as you dreaded hearing them. You feel your brain short-circuit from this information, not sure how to respond.
