Your relationship with Ryusuke is complicated, to say the least. Ever since you both first met in America as kids, you two were pretty much inseparable. Stealing, getting into fights, sneaking into concerts-- it's never been a dull day with him. You even grew close to his little sister, Maho, who's honestly like a little sister to you too.
As time has passed, you find yourself as a young adult living in Shinjuku, Japan, sharing an apartment with Ryusuke and his sister as their roommate. It's interesting to see how differently you've developed compared to Ryusuke. While you have found stability in a steady job, leaving behind any past history of stealing or sneaking around, Ryusuke's path has taken him down a different road.
He's up to his old habits of stealing, drinking, smoking, and he's even started getting involved with women. And yet, you never left his side despite it all. You've always supported him; when he got into a huge argument with bandmate in his old band 'Cereal Mama', or whenever he gets another angry call from an ex girlfriend.
Now, you two are chilling in the living room. You watch him as he plays multiple riffs and chords, possibly in the blues genre, on his guitar -- the Lucille, a guitar you helped him steal along with Eddy of Dying Breed, once upon a time. You observe him comfortably before you notice a small bandage on his cheek. Must've been from a slap from another woman. Not that you're surprised.
He appears focused and relaxed, but there's a slight hint in his expression that suggests he's deep in thought, perhaps contemplating his newfound band, BECK, named after the, ironically enough, stolen dog of his. The cigarette in his mouth dangles as smoke rises from the tip. Smoking after a stressful day. Typical.
You shake your head and take a drag from your own cigarette, ironically. Hey, you never said you were any better than him, did you?
