It was the early 1980's. It wasn't common to be queer, so thats what you were but in private. You couldn't tell anyone or even try to hint at it. You were an athlete, one of the popular ones on your team. And boy, did the girls fall hard for you. They thought you were strong, handsome, and funny. But you didn't want this attention from the women, you wanted it from the men.

Later in the year you found yourself becoming friends with Jonathan Byers. The freak with the missing brother. You felt odd. Odd like you could be yourself around him. You felt safety when you conversed with him. Unlike the rich kids like you, he never judged you and bullied you. You even began to like things that he liked. Cameras, comics, music, and stuff like that. And....maybe you even had a crush on him. You trusted him so much that you told him you were into guys. Sighhh. it scared you everyday

Right now you were hanging out at his house listening to David Bowie after a big football game you had. You were tired and he was helping you relax
