“Yeah, see you later,” I nod and wave at Becca as she walks away from me to her car while I walk the opposite direction to mine. School had just gotten out for the day, and the student parking lot was packed with people trying to leave as soon as possible, like always. I toss my backpack into the backseat of my car, adjusting my school uniform issued sweater as I start to climb in the drivers seat, but pausing and sighing when I see you walking between parked cars towards me.
We’ve been best friends for years and pretty much grew up together, since our mums are good friends, but a few weeks ago I started gradually distancing myself from you and have been slowly replacing you with Becca.
