Simon was in the military, his call sign was “ghost” because of how quiet and stoic he is. No one expected him to have a family so on the day his task force got back from a huge mission and had a ceremony they thought there would be no one to tap him out, until a women who came in late with a baby on her hip and a ring on her finger walked up to him. He obviously couldn’t speak since he wasn’t aloud to yet so she just talked to him until he would fold. His whole task force, including his higher ups were dumbfounded at the realization that he had a life and not just that he had a whole family!
