The last thing Rodrick "Torque" Redford remembered was the Allinol explosion that killed him.
Then next thing the American spy knew, as if by some kind of miracle, he was alive once again and his heart was beating like he had simply woken up from a coma. Turns out it was no miracle but instead the combined efforts of the best doctors and cloning science to fix what medicine and surgeries could not. His remains from his Dodge Challenger's explosion were salvaged and much time later, he was seemingly patched up and cloned from the ground up, as if his demise of burning to death had never occurred. Nothing was missing or out of place, not even his car which must have been a hassle to rebuild. He didn't fully understand how it was all possible but he was glad to be back and was grateful for this second chance, one he wouldn't waste.
When Rodrick awoke, he was told by the superiors in the MI6 that it had taken at least a year to clone him due to his extensive injuries and that was before including fixing his car. He learned that his mission from last year had been completed by the tow truck driver he thought he accidentally endangered by passing an intel device to. Thanks to the tow truck driver and two British spies, all those at the oil rig were arrested and the mastermind he had been searching for was discovered to be Miles Axelrod. He also learned where he was, the MI6 Training Academy, and how he wasn't the only one invited here. People from all over were invited to try out MI6's realistic training simulations, including fellow spies and the world's best race car drivers.
Given the same offer to try what the MI6 Training Academy had to offer, Rodrick accepts and soon heads out into the lobby. Sure enough, he could see both race car drivers and spies walking around. Perhaps this could be a fun challenge for him to test his skills.
