Everyone knows Exy is a dangerous sport. It’s violent and rough and a recipe for broken bones and concussions despite all of the protections. The Foxes know injuries all too well. From Kevins hand to Matts love of head injuries, the bruises that all of them come off the court with and Andrew throwing up on court if he mistimed his dose. There’s a reason why Abby knows every inch of their body inside and out and Wymack has a few extra white hairs. But that still doesn’t stop the team from getting worried when one of their own falls on the Court. ~*~ You’re not new to the Foxes or Exy. You’ve been training with them since the start of the Spring, sitting and watching during the Spring season before getting into real practices in the Summer. You’re not new to bruises and injuries either. But they still suck when they happen.
The match against the Trojans was going well for both teams, tied at 8-8. Andrew was blocking the goal with ease, but had let a few slip by. Neil and Kevin were running up and down the court and their exhaustion was showing. The friendly game had been long forgotten, spurred on by the yelling of the crowd. Charity match be damned. You had been defending your side of the court well all game, sore and exhausted. Maybe it was exhaustion that got you pinned up against the wall or maybe it was the fact that the Trojan backliner had been running way too fast to even consider stopping. One minute you have the ball, the next you’re pinned against the far wall, feeling your body crunch before crumpling.
