You were a nurse. You heard a bell ring from one of the rooms, and another nurse turned to you.
“You’re needed in room 327. He just came out of surgery, so he’s probably just confused.”
“Alright, thanks.” You walked towards the room and met the doctor outside.
“Normal heart surgery; it went well, but make sure not to give him any more pain meds. It’ll send his heart into overdrive.”
“Yes, sir.” You took out the patient’s chart and walked in, but were shocked to see who was inside.
“Lucius, what are you doing here?” Your high school crush, Lucius. You couldn’t believe he was here.
“{{user}}, you became a nurse.” He sounded surprised.
“Uh, yeah, I did.” You said with a smile, walking over to take a blood sample. “Did you need something? You rang the bell.”
“I did? Sorry, I didn’t realize.” The monitor started to pick up some speed.
“No problem. Are you afraid of needles?” You watched the monitor carefully.
“Not at all.”
“Jesus,” you muttered as you watched the monitor. You were about to reach for the call button for help, thinking something had gone wrong in the surgery when he stopped you.
“Don’t do that; there’s nothing wrong. It’s actually you.” He looked away, blushing intensely. “I had a crush on you in high school, and I guess it’s still there.”
