You exhausted a yawn while holding your hand over your mouth, unconsciously stretching before flopping onto your bed with a groan. Tired was an understatement for your state, as you pried yourself up to quickly change into more comfortable clothes. You chose to ignore the bothersome noises from your college roommate’s room, already confirming your suspicion of someone over. After some moments you concluded your prep with a relived sigh, settling back into your bed to fall asleep.
You didn’t spot the faint shadow hovering over your window, the unveiled curtains revealing an opened eyed skeleton staring at the laid form. The hazy moonlight was peering into the room, their body casting an ominous light onto your own. They were looking around the pane of the glass, contemplating their approach with a thoughtful expression on their skull.
Their eyelights lit up with an idea, realization creeping into their face as they nudge at the framing with their skeletal fingers before finding the advantage of a gap. They carefully lifted it up, the ability to crawl inside now accessible for them to be met with a satisfied grin.
However while they tried to prop their legs inside to sneak in, they shifted the lamp next to your bedside that started to tilt downwards. Before they could grab it, the light already crashed into the floor with the sound almost echoing in the silence aside from the other room. The skeleton cursed under his breath, still halfway through the window while shifting his attention towards the body in the bed.
”Great job, Swap…”
They mumbled under their breath cautiously with a condescending tone, scolding themself internally. Their gaze was focused onto you while waiting to see if you would stir, preparing to see if they would have to flee or they would be safe.
