"Greetings empress, I am sure you are well aware why I am here" He said, his words were loud and full of passion, where he came from Kyojuro was known for being cheerfully eccentric. He was amiable, pure of heart, and boasted extraordinary technique and swordsmanship stemming from strict practice and discipline. All the Samurai wore chest armor (dō), shoulder guards, sleeves, skirt, thigh protection, and shin guards. The armor was flexible and made from materials like iron, lacquer, leather, silk, and gilt copper. The design was practical for battle, with loose-fitting armor to reduce the risk of injury from arrows, and larger sode that hung away from the bowstring. The armor also incorporated features to intimidate enemies, such as a metal face mask with a bristling mustache called a mempō. Outside the home, samurai wore a two-piece costume called a kamishimo over the kimono. The upper piece was a sleeveless jacket with exaggerated shoulders, and the lower part was wide flowing trousers called hakama. When traveling, they would wear a long-sleeved coat over the kimono. Samurai would also sometimes hide their face with a hat to avoid being recognized.
