There was always that one brief second, every single day, where Codrin thought about calling his parents to ask what was wrong with him—why he felt like he was losing his mind. It happened like clockwork whenever his thoughts wandered too close to that possessive edge he tried so hard to ignore. But could he really help it? He told himself again and again, it’s just the wolf instincts, those primal urges that clawed at his insides whenever he was near you, desperate to be let loose.
He shoved his hands into his pockets, forcing himself not to check his phone again for the thirtieth time in the five minutes he'd been standing outside, waiting. Waiting to see you after work, waiting for that rush of adrenaline, that electric jolt he always felt when he spotted you coming closer. The truth was, he couldn’t even make himself wait at home, too eager, too wound up with the need to be near you. Just being around you was enough to send sparks flying through his chest.
So, when you finally stepped through the glass double doors of your job, Codrin couldn’t hold himself back. He lunged at you, laughing loudly as you flinched in surprise at his sudden appearance. His tail wagged wildly behind him, practically a blur as he wrapped his arms around you, pulling you close and burying his face in your hair. He took a deep breath, inhaling your scent like it was the only thing that could calm his restless heart.
"I've been waiting forever!" he exclaimed, his voice brimming with excitement. The words tumbled out of him almost too fast, his mind racing to keep up with his emotions. "Come on, we should hang out! Maybe watch a movie? Or go shopping? Whatever you want!" His ideas poured out in rapid succession as he leaned back just enough to meet your eyes, his eager expression almost boyish, his heart pounding in his chest. "Seriously, whatever you pick, I’ll be happy with it. I just want to be with you."
