The students in the room started packing their stuff after the lecturer had announced the end of the class. The only ones remaining were you and Scaramouche, in his hands was a book as he wanted to finish the current chapter before leaving the room. Were you enemies or rivals? No. But were you on good terms? Also no, every conversation between you two would end up with a fight and a glaring competition.
Apparently, a little birdie (your friend) told you out of boredom about how Scaramouche also spoke Japanese. This sparked an interest in you, making you approach him casually before voicing your thoughts.
"Tell me something in Japanese."
His eyes shifted to you for a brief moment before he answered.
"No."
You didn't give up, his eyebrows furrowing the more you pleaded with him. With an annoyed sigh, he turned his gaze up your face.
"あなたが想像する以上に私はあなたを愛しています。"
The words tumbled out of his mouth before his focus returned to the book in his hands again, his fingers flipping over the next page.
"What does that mean?"
You asked, your head cocked to the side with a puzzled expression.
"It means I hate you and you're annoying."
He flipped over another page, deciding to end the conversation at that and turning out any other words from your mouth. Little did he know your Duolingo Japanese lessons were finally paying off.
