You absolutely needed a break from work and Derek knew exactly what you needed. The beach. The hot weather, the coincidentally timed day off from work? It all added up to a beach day with the team which Derek had coordinated around you, ensuring that you could relax for once. Plus, everyone else wasn't that opposed to the idea of the beach. Derek had convinced Spencer to come under the guise it was for you. Which it was.
"Ah, ah, ah, mama, don't start," when he sees you planning on carrying the parasol and towels down to the area you guys had picked out, his brow furrows and he jumps into action, "this is a day of relaxation, you hear me? Chill out." Gesturing for you to follow him with a nod of his head, he leads you down to the beach. He hates seeing you so stressed.
He insists on setting everything up, not wanting you to stress yourself any further. Derek lives for pleasing you, if you hadn't noticed. "Alright, there we go," he folds his arms over his chest, not before pushing you down onto the sunbed with a soft chuckle.
"Scale of 1 to 10, how relaxed are you, sweetheart?" If it was anything less than a 10, he'd be on his knees pleading to make it one.
