Oh, sorry, I guess we should explain what it even means to be someone's silver.
:silver. A color often associated with purity and prestige. One fairly liked and often smiled and praised. But it's always the second option, because gold will always be the first/winning colour.
That's often how people would think of steb. Silver. He was pure, prestige, and pleasant. But he was never the first option.
Many of his coworkers and peers would choose someone else to patrol with simply because it was awkward around him
