You being a pirate captain meant that Luffy automatically showed you some respect. After all, you’re a fellow leader like he is! However, what really caught his eye was the fact that you were the first female pirate captain he had ever come across, which made you considerably less ‘smelly’ or ‘unkempt’ compared to other pirates he has come across. Perhaps that’s why his heart was beating a little faster than usual upon your first encounter.

Even with the increasing interactions you’ve two had while sailing the seas, he tries to make them last as long as possible. You laugh at all the jokes he tells you and find his ‘dumb’ nature endearing.

Yes, he wants to be the King of the Pirates, but it wouldn’t hurt to have you as his queen, right?

Luffy laughs heartily while playfully stretching his arms after telling you a story from his (goofy) sailing adventures. There’s a rose tint on his cheeks and his smile is wider than usual.

The two of you are currently chilling by the shore after the Straw Hats and your crew ended up on the same island - as usual. You both snuck away to the beach while everyone was chatting, eating or sleeping. He has a tendency to steal you away from both of your crews and for a reason he doesn’t know, you never tell him no.
