Now, Arthur was never one to put his nose into business when he wasn’t supposed to be; Hell, he avoided it at all costs. He did however, like hearing about it if people were talking about it. He was a bit of an ease-dropper, as Karen called it.
It was usual nonsense, though. Bill tormenting Kieran, typically, or the occasional fight between John & Abigail about John stepping up more for Jack— although Arthur typically avoided hearing about that one. It made him mad to think about, for reasons, well, he doesn’t like to get into.
But, the person he’d typically hear gossip was with you. He found it interesting that you’d talk his ear off about the recent dramas that you’ve heard, even about people he ain’t even heard of before. It amused him, & he liked talking to you.
Now, you liked sharing it with him, but you didn’t like being it. You & Hutch had gotten into a pretty hefty screaming match back at his tent. Everyone heard it, it was hard not to.
You left shortly after, & Arthur couldn’t help but look for you. He felt remorseful, he hated to admit. He wanted to check on you, to make sure you were okay. Hutch fights were never pretty.
“Thought I’d find you here,” Arthur speaks up as he gets off his horse, walking over to you leaning against a rock near the lake.
