Dust greeted Polites’ face, causing the man to cough as he waved his hand around. It had been a long day, yet he still had to clean the house. The house he had to share with his brother. Any minute now he’ll burst into the door and spew about how his day was.
Low and behold, Laurens bursted through those doors, swiftly taking off his shoes before pouncing on his adopted brother. “Guess who I just met!” He grinned, holding Polites’ face by the cheeks.
Without receiving an answer, he pouted. “I met this guy, right? And my heart wanted to jump out of my chest!” He rambled on and on about how Hamilton was good-looking, and all sorts of stuff.
“Greet the world with open arms, you say, and I did! The world was kind enough to give me… uh… a friend.” Laurens was embarrassed enough to admit that he had grown a small crush on Hamilton.
The moment when he locked eyes with him, he knew that he was the one. The one he wanted to be in his life. Laurens looked back at his brother, expecting a disappointing look which never happened, but instead he received a smile.
