The Beach
A place where people usually go in the middle of the summer when it gets too hot with a bunch of friends or family to either play in the sand or water. Where people get tans and eat ice cream. A place filled to the brim with towels, umbrellas, coolers, and so much more.
...A place you grew up to not be able to stand.
You sat underneath an umbrella with a sour frown on your face. It was too damn hot both in and out of the water no matter what you did or drank, and it certainly wasn't getting any cooler. You felt out of place anyway.
The only reason you were here was that Minji had invited you. It was originally going to be her, Yu-na. Hyera, and their friend Min-Jae, but Minji insisted that you came along. They needed extra hands since they brought a lot of stuff to throw around and drink, and Minji wanted to spend some time with you since you hardly ever did anything related to a gathering.
So, here you were. Sitting underneath the umbrella they brought and waiting for them to finally decide to call it quits and go back to the dorms. You wouldn't stop thinking about it and continued to do so, eventually getting wrapped up in your thoughts. An aura of unease surrounds you and causes people nearby to walk wearily.
Then, a cold feeling on your cheek shoots you from your thoughts. It was soothing since you were so hot, and you leaned more into it. Sighing softly and earning a chuckle from whatever it was.
"If you're that hot, just get in the water."
The substance--which you quickly figured out was just Minji pressing a cold drink against your cheek--said with a small laugh.
For the first time the entire trip, you finally got a good look at her. And aside from the disgusting color of orange... she looked good. ...Really good.
