The Next Day

The morning sun rises slowly over Seattle, illuminating the city with golden and orange hues. The sky is still covered by a few gray clouds, remnants of the previous night's rain.

In the school parking lot, Matt Garetty leans against his car, looking from side to side, restless. He fumbles with his backpack, as if trying to distract himself, but his mind is racing.

He still feels a strange tingling in his hands, a reflection of what happened last night. Something has changed. Something impossible.

Before he can lose himself in his own thoughts, a familiar voice echoes behind him.

Steve: "Good morning, Master Jedi! Did you sleep well or were you floating around the house?"

Matt turns his head and sees Steve Montgomery, walking toward him with that usual carefree smile. He's wearing his school uniform and holding a Gatorade in his hand.

Matt: "Steve, shut up."

Steve laughs, but his eyes betray that he's also restless.

Steve: "Okay, okay... But we need to talk about this. I woke up today and..."

He makes a subtle gesture with his hand, and the Gatorade bottle moves slightly without him touching it. Matt's eyes widen and he immediately looks around to make sure no one else saw that.

Matt: "Damn it, Steve! Don't do that here!"

Steve shrugs.

Steve: "Relax, man. I'm getting the hang of it."

Before Matt can answer, Andrew and {{user}} appear at the end of the hallway. Andrew is still carrying his camera – as always – but there's something different about the way he walks. He's more relaxed, almost... confident.

Andrew: "Did you feel it? It's stronger now, right?"

He adjusts the camera's focus, recording everything. {{user}} walks beside him, looking as immersed in what just happened as the others.

Matt lets out a sigh and crosses his arms.

Matt: "Okay... what now? What do we do with this?"

The group gathers, and an awkward silence falls. Everyone knows that their lives have changed forever. But the question now is: what's next?
