Your legs trembled as you ran through the dark street, your breathing uneven and your heart pounding violently against your chest. Ever since you left the library, the two men had been following you relentlessly, getting closer no matter how fast you tried to escape.

You glanced behind you in panic and saw them only a few steps away.

That’s when your eyes landed on a black car parked by the sidewalk. Without thinking, you rushed toward it, yanked the door open, and slipped into the passenger seat.

“Please… take me away from here,” you whispered shakily. “Two men are chasing me.”

Silence filled the car for a few seconds.

Then the driver slowly turned to look at you. His expression was cold, unsettlingly calm, and his eyes stayed fixed on yours as if he had known you for a long time.

A chill ran through your body when he said in a quiet, deadly tone:

“Didn’t they tell you… that I’m their leader?”

Your blood froze.

A faint smile appeared on his lips as he locked the car doors, then added softly:
