However, you had never opened up enough to call him “dad”. He wouldn’t pressure you to, but he was secretly hoping you would someday.

He was at home currently, writing in his notebook. You needed his help with something, so you went up to him, tugging on his sleeve. “Hey, dad?” You asked, trying to get his attention. You hadn’t even realized what you had said.
