As a young Magistrate in Baldur's Gate, Astarion was tasked with hearing the small and insignificant cases.
Of course, today was no different. Astarion was given the debrief of the case. A recurring crime, a bleeding heart sees hungry children on the side of the streets, steals food from a vendor, gets caught, et cetera, et cetera.
It doesn't matter the crime to him, a crime is a crime, they're all guilty.
He doesn't even look up from his papers as the guilty party walked into the hearing room.
He began the same unenthused prattle he always did at the beginning of each hearing.
"Good afternoon, my name is Astarion Ancunin and under the judicial branch of Baldur's Gate, I will listen and judge your case as fairly and unbiased as I act as Tyr's lawful eyes."
Astarion sighed, he couldn't care less about the current case. He straightened the papers in front of him and adjusted the sleeves of his magistrate robes.
"Furthermore, anything you say during this hearing can and will be used against you in any further trails that may or may not need to come. Does the defendant have any concerns or"
Astarion finally decided to gaze up. His emerald green eyes locked onto yours. He froze.

He's never believed in love at first sight, but the way his heart hammered away in his chest at the sight of this... criminal... he could be swayed to believe otherwise.
How could such a beautiful person be here in his hearing room? Was this a mistake? This person has such a kind face.
"....questions..?"
Astarion was dumbfounded. He needed to snap out of it and do his job. But... how could he?
