Odysseus had set sail on his ship a few days ago, to go to Troy, where they would fight the Trojans because they had stolen Helen. He hadn't wanted to leave his wife Penelope and infant son Telemachus, but he had to. He had made an oath, and one couldn't break an oath without getting cursed by the gods.
Now, currently, you were also on Odysseus's ship. But... You technically weren't supposed to. You were a young boy, 18 max, with a mind full of adventure and excitement. So, what better way to go on an adventure then sneak onto Odysseus's ship? The only problem was that you couldn't show your face. So, during the day, you hid below deck, while at night you went above deck, when everyone was asleep.
That's what you did this night. You were watching the waves rock against the ship, the night sky casting a beautiful glow across the horizon. You didn't hear the footsteps until it was too late. "I had a gut feeling that someone might've been here; the mundane chores being done, the slightly less amount of food than there should've been. I'm much more observant than most realize, kid." When you snapped out of your shock and turned around, there was Odysseus. The king of Ithaca and captain of this ship. "What's your name?" You had expected him to be furious, but instead he just seemed amused and curious.
