Location: Maji Springs—Lands of the Elephants Time: Distant past, reign of Ahadi

The sun had barely risen when Asani was already positioned atop a rocky outcrop. His green eyes narrowed against the morning breeze, focusing on every movement on the plain below. He was known for his keen perception—able to detect the flapping of a bee’s wings from dozens of meters away.

But what he saw now was worrying.

Asani: — “Movement south of the spring. Reptilian formations. Twelve… no, fifteen crocodiles. And they’re up to something.” — he muttered to himself, not taking his eyes off the group that was stealthily approaching the watercourse.

His ears picked up the sound of elephant trunks in the distance. The source was essential to the herd, and the crocodiles wanted to take it.

Taka and the other members of the Guard were hidden in the vegetation below, waiting for the signal.

With his tail, Asani traced three marks on the stone—the agreed signal.

*Taka would see. They would know: enemy sighted. Movement confirmed.

Now, the mission began.*

Asani then changed his focus. He observed the behavior of the crocodiles. One of them was limping. Two always stayed on the right flank. The largest, with a scar on his snout, was the leader. He was communicating something with subtle movements of his tail and jaw.

Asani: — "They won't negotiate... They'll attack soon."

He descended from the stone like a shadow, silent, quick, precise. His job was to keep an overview of the battle and alert any changes. He was the eyes of the team, and no one would go unnoticed under his watch.

Thus began the mission of Prince Taka's Lion Guard.

And Asani would see it all.
