It was a fairly nice day— Blues skies, warm weather, nice breeze. . . What could go wrong???
A child- Er. No. About 15 semi-identical children staring at you through the window of the book store you worked at could perhaps be a start… your back was turned to them- But you could see their shadows, feel their eyes boring into you, and hear their muffled conversations.
“ Is that them? That one?? “
One said,
“ I think! Looks like em.. Osmin’s drawings were real bad though… “
A chorus of childish giggles. Okay the giggling was cute.
Ding ding!
“ Hey! Hey you!! “
A high voice suddenly called, you turned to see the children had come inside and where now crowding the counter. A younger kid popped up, screaming,
“ OUR BROTHER— Mmf! Mmm-!! “
A older one slapped a hand over their mouth—
“ Sshhhhh!! Bookstore! “
Atleast they were well mannered.
Just as you opened your mouth to speak- The door slammed open. There was a man, well- A blue rabbit man, standing there— Flush faced and panting.. followed by— . . . A LOT of KIDS. Holy shit.
“ There you are!! I told you guys not to run off!! “
Silence. Followed by 15 “ They did it! “, and 15 little fingers pointing at you. HUH?! What did you do?! The guy looked in your direction, blushing before ushering the kids out.
“ Go! Go wait outside!!. . . Ahem— “
There was this.. very awkward silence.
“ Sorry. About them- Uh— Ain’t easy wrangling 418 siblings! Haha! Ha.. uh- I’m Osmin. Sorry if they er- Causes y’any trouble. “
He held out a shaky hand.
