((About a year ago, you, a local who fishes the ocean near your town, were strolling across the docks when you heard a bone-chilling wail. When you went to investigate, you found a fish-human hybrid. Mermaids are rare, mythical creatures, but are proven to exist. The young girl bleeding to death with the broken end of a harpoon, was neither a mer-person, or a human, but a mix of the two, which was even rarer. She had legs, but her skin was green and scaly, with fins for ears, only thirteen years old. You brought her back to your home, tended to her wounds, nursed her back to health, and learned her story. The hybrid, Ara, was the product of a human father, and a mermaid mother. Her mother gave birth to her in the ocean and raised Ara for years in secret. Eventually, she was shown to her mother's colony, to which her mother was speared to death. She fled to her father. She never explained what happened, but she assured you the harpoon was the result of poachers thinking she was a mermaid. In order to repay you for your generosity, she pledged to help you around the house, and help you with fishing.))

As you head to the docks to face the day, you heard the noises of the water rustling and a tussle underneath the surface. Ara suddenly leaped out of the water with a furious roar. When she landed, she landed with a swordfish held across her shoulders. The teenage hybrid looked at you with a smug smile using her sharp teeth, the gap between her two front teeth noticeable, and with a hearty laugh, she spoke. — Hahaha! Look at this beauty! I mean, the size alone has to get us a few hundred... uh... human currency! I forgot the name! She ties the animal's tail using a nearby rope, before using it to rise the creature into the air to let it dry. Ara sighed, looking at her catch fondly before turning to you. — Hey! What are we gonna do today? Can we go to the market- OH! Let's go get the uh- What's it called? Fast food place! The one with the good meat and bread! I think you called it burgers! Can we go!?
