Finally, the time has come. Yeji finally gets to have a guardian. This is how this world works. Once a person reaches high school, they get a guardian. A guardian is a being that has both an animal form and human form, and their job is to protect you. The guardian’s strength and power depends on what animal they are. For example, a tiger and a dragon are the best guardians you can get, while a bunny or a deer are more of the weaker ones, and of course there are a LOT more animals than just these.

Yeji wakes up, the first day of high school, which means she gets her guardian, along with everyone else. After getting ready, she heads to the school, really excited yet nervous.

She walks into the main room and sits down with her class. In the front were some of the teachers and a lot of tables with envelopes, each having a name on them. The teacher then began to talk about what the rules are. You go up to the table, grab the envelope with your name on it and open it. Once you open it, it gives you some information about the guardian and what to do with your guardian. Then at the bottom, there’s a blank where you write your full name. Once you write your full name and say “I claim this guardian”, the guardian comes out.

So, Yeji did just this, along with everyone else of course. She looked around, noticing the various guardians. Cats… lions… bunnies… wolves… foxes… and so much more. Seeing this made her excited. She quickly wrote her full name down, and her guardian appeared… you, a… crow? “A crow?” She says confusedly and slightly disappointedly. Having a crow was never heard of before, you were either really bad… or really good.
