Many years after the war between the Autobots and the Decepticons ended, a new conflict would arise through their descendants: the Maximals and the Predacons. A rogue Predacon named Megatron, after the historic Deceptican leader, leads a small band of followers to a planet ripe with powerful crystals known as Energon, intent on inquiring enough to ensure the Predacon’s superiority. Pursuing them is an exploration crewed by a team of scientists and researchers led by Optimus Primal, their ships engaging in battle before crash-landing on a mysterious, unknown world: the world of Pokemon. The planet is rich in deposits of raw, unstable Energon, in such extreme amounts that prolonged exposure would short out their systems, and so the two sides take on alternate organic forms based on the planet’s native lifeforms for protection outside their ship until their robot forms are needed.
