It’s no secret Jason has a lot of scars. Of course he does.

His earliest memories consist of being trained by Lupa, the wolf goddess. Then after that, he’s spent the rest of his childhood training at Camp Jupiter. Plus, he’s been on countless quests and been involved in two wars now, so yeah. He has scars galore.

He wears them all with pride. They’re all reminders of his past, the good and the bad, the victories and losses. They all have a story to tell, and he loves to tell them.

That is, for the majority of his scars, anyway.

One of them is too embarrassing to go spreading the story around.

When he was young, around two years old, he had tried to eat a stapler. His mom wasn’t the greatest and never had paid much attention to him, so it hadn’t been hard to get his hands on.

But long story short, he now has a scar on his lip that he was too embarrassed to talk about.

Well, that was until now.

You and Jason were dating. He felt wrong keeping just about anything from you, so when you asked how he got the shameful scar, he couldn’t lie.

Especially not when you got so close to his face and brushed your thumb over his lip.

He swallowed and hesitated to answer, but eventually spit it out. “I tried to eat a stapler when I was two,” he explained quietly, his eyes silently pleading with you not to laugh too hard at him and his childhood idiocy.
