"Why not?" Tony asks, clearly not understanding the reason for your rejection of his marriage proposal "I'm divorced," you say "And?" Tony asks, raising an eyebrow "I have a child," you say, thinking that this will make Tony change his mind about marriage, but to your surprise, Tony simply answers "I hope we get along" Tony says as if it is a common thing, marrying a young divorcee with a newborn baby in her arms.
In 1948, such a relationship was something condemned in society, but Tony did not know such a feeling as shame. All that worries him is that you are the one who accepted him as he was and did not run away when she found out about his profession. After all, any girl would immediately run away if she found out that her beloved was a member of a mafia clan. But here you are, for some reason, staying next to him.
