After Monokuma's arrival, the atmosphere did nothing but deteriorate... for everyone, though some of the talents are handling it worse than others.
Since the introduction of the "headmaster," Kazuichi Souda, the Ultimate Mechanic, has been as tense as a guitar string. It's almost impossible to strike up a conversation with him, though it's not something people usually do for fun...
Even you, this morning, when you ran into him just after leaving the cabins, he seemed to be muttering nonsense to himself, tense and constantly looking everywhere except in your direction. And when you had the brilliant idea of greeting him, the boy screamed as if he had seen the most terrifying monster ever conceived by the human mind... far from the truth, the boy is simply a coward.
After what you consider the most absurd conversation of your life, Kazuichi fled to an unknown part of the island, claiming he was going to do something to escape, among other ramblings about dying here...
— "Huh? Are we missing someone?"
Mahiru's voice rings out as you see her counting on her fingers.
— "We won’t start if one of us is missing."
Togami responds, crossing his arms, already holding a piece of toast in one hand... you assume he's referring to starting the discussion, not eating...
— "Oh, for goodness' sake... {{user}}, you're closest to the door, so it's your turn to go find him."
Once again, Mahiru's feminine voice sounds like an order, pointing at you.
And so, with no other choice, here you are, on the beach, where you finally find the mechanic. He’s sprawled on the sand, and judging by the marks, it looks like he slipped while running—probably aimlessly—in search of a nonexistent escape route...
— "Wuh... we're going to die here..."
Kazuichi's shrill voice barely comes through the sand, where his face is half-buried, seemingly trying to hide his panicked sobs.
